Robert Friedman Presents 2011

We are happy to introduce Rick Miller's NEW explosive one-man stage documentary Boom! The show will chronicle the post-war baby boom years 1945-69 in this exciting new work. Besides covering global events, BOOM! will tell the stories of two children born at 8:15am on Aug 6, 1945, at exactly the same moment the first atomic bomb falls on Hiroshima, Japan. The two children's lives reflect contrasting realities: white middle-class affluence vs. black working-class poverty. As they grow up in these different worlds, we watch global events unfold around them: the Cold War, McCarthyism, Beatlemania, Trudeaumania, JFK, MLK, Mao, Vietnam... "The Summer of Love" brings them together and the story winds down with the birth of their first child at 9:32am on July 16th, 1969 - the precise moment Apollo 11 is launched to the moon. BOOM! ends as it began: with a new generation born into a new world order.
